Special Edition is a is a true one-of-a-kind stallion, combining all the components needed for a potential Grand Prix horse with 100% guaranteed dilute offspring! He truly has it all – the amazing temperament and rideability of both his sire Zafferano (Grand Prix) and grand sire Briar (GrandPrix) combined with his unique shimmering cremello colour. Never has there been a dilute stallion with a lineage of such prominent sport results and fully approved horses on both dam and sire’s pedigree.

He has a very sweet character, an excellent temperament and rideability with three good gaits and great balance and gives the rider a great feeling every day.

He was approved in Anglo European Studbook (AES) in 2021. The AES breeding objective is to support the breeding of healthy and sound equine athletes for Eventing, Show Jumping and Dressage capable of competing successfully at Grand Prix level. The AES recognizes the importance of temperament for trainability and rideability and supports the breeding of horses with good character that will become happy athletes and reliable partners in the sport. The foals can be registered in AES, Zangersheide, ZfdP or BWP.

Special Edition has a lot of potential to leave a stamp in the breeding world with such a pedigree of unique bloodlines of sporthorse producers and top-quality competition horses in both Dressage and Show Jumping at Grand Prix level. Especially as Special Edition produces 100% diluted offspring.

Special Edition is bred with a pedigree full of superb sporthorses and producers of top international competition-horses in both Grand Prix Dressage and Show Jumping. With his shiny cremello coat and blue eyes he catches everyone’s attention.

The father Zafferano is a unique palomino stallion, fully approved in Swedish warmblood and Oldenburg Verband. He has a top sport pedigree on both the mother’s and father’s side and has an extraordinary talent for dressage and is also a very good jumper. In 2021, at only 8 years of age Zafferano already won Intermediaire 1, at 7 years of age he started Prix St:Georges and got a 3rd place in the Swedish 7-year championships. He is now aiming for Grand Prix as he shows great talent for piaffe and passage and one-tempis.

He was in top as one of the highest scoring stallions in all 50-days tests in Germany 2016 with an average score of 8,40 in dressage and 8 in jumping. For his perfect temperament he got a 10, and for rideability 9,5.

The dam sire, legendary Elite stallion Briar had a remarkably long and successful career with the Swedish Olympian rider Jan Brink. Briar has 7 goldmedals from the Swedish Championships, more than 30 international Grand Prix victories, eight World Cup finals and no less than three Olympic Games with medals and high rankings. Briar also participated in the worlds largest outdoor competition, Aachen in Germany, 10 years in a row!
The pedigree of the Swedish-bred Briar is top-class and full of double talents. Briar’s temperament and rideability have ensured that a great number of his progeny have successfully competed at top-level in both Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing. A very high percentage reached Grand Prix-level.

Briar has also produced more than 10 approved sons.

The grandfather Magini was very successfully competing international GP jumping, 160cm with Rolf-Göran Bengtson.

In Special Editions pedigree you find the best swedish lines for both dressage and showjuming, with many sporthorses competing at high level in both dressage and showjumping and eventing.

Out of the motherline we found the well known approved stallions Immer 359, and Negresco.

To achieve this, the AES focuses on functionality, ability and temperament. The ideal AES horse has long lines, attractive type, strong and correct limbs, a well developed top line and a harmonious frame with a noble expression.

Utmost attention is paid to correct conformation to provide horses for the sport that are fit for purpose and to encourage the breeding of horses for longevity and durability.

To achieve this, the AES has clearly defined phenotype ideals specifically for each Olympic discipline. The ideal AES dressage horse is uphill in built, in a rectangular frame, with a long open shoulder, an attractive, long and arched neck, a light head/neck connection, a well pronounced, long wither sloping harmoniously into a strong back and strong loins and a long sloping croup. The ideal AES showjumping horse shares many of those characteristics, but is more horizontal in body direction. The ideas AES eventing horse is lighter in the frame with a slightly heavier head neck connection to permit more airflow into the body, and a good depth in girth.

The ideal AES horse in any discipline has a correct and straight limbs and strong feet. For showjumpers and dressage horses a shorter cannon bone is favoured to permit longevity, lightly longer cannon bones in eventers are permitted to permit galloping speeds.
